Well that's the Hype about it anyway. I have literally just removed the box and opened it to see what's inside.
My initial Impression, this thing is a wall clock! It's bigger than my Oniss which was the previous record holder in my collection. The fit and finish is almost perfect, I notice that the blue color isn't the same between the hands and the hour markers. It's not distracting but as they say "god is in the details" I would have made sure the blued colors were matched.
It has custom end links for the bracelet which will be impossible to replace five years down the road, that might not seem like a big deal right now but it will be if you own one in a few years!
On the plus side those custom end links reflect the deeply curved lugs which will make it very comfortable on a Zulu or Nato style nylon band!
Invicta put their name on every spare millimeter of space on the watch including the side opposite the crown, personally I find that terribly ugly, It looks like high school vandalism to me but I have had an Invicta before so I'm not surprised by it.
I don't want to give the impression I don't like Invicta's. they are a great value in this price range and they are actually just glorified Citizens since the 21 Jewel models have the Citizen/Miyota movement in them. If you can't find a Citizen you like you can browse the Invicta models too.
I really expected a piece of junk but I'm having a hard time finding anything wrong with it. I'm not sure a display back to show off a $20.00 movement is the brightest thing to do but it's still fun to look at anyway and as long as it really will go to 200 meters with a display back I'm actually quite happy with it.
Thumbs up! you would be hard pressed to find more watch in this price range!
A couple of pictures for scale against my Seiko Diver (skxa35) and a couple of glamour shots.
